Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental health problem that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event, like I did being held captive by my abuser from domestic violence. Since then I met Michelle who donated her rescue green cheeky “parrot” to me named: “Precious”.

My interactions with Precious helped soothe many physical and mental symptoms, including high blood pressure and poor heart health as well. I’m so happy I experienced having her. It was such a rare and special connection. To have an experience like that with a parakeet is the most precious thing ever and her name says it all. We are soulmates.

Precious and I cuddle and watch tv together, take showers, and she love the water. She eats everything and snuggles and sleeps under my chin. I thank God for Michelle donating Precious to me, I could never live without her.
